Evadne mostly presents as a dwarf, though whether male or female depends mostly on who they are going to meet with and what they want to accomplish; almost no one has ever seen Evadne’s true form and they are unwilling to appear without presenting as something. Evadne often chooses appearances that are deliberately flawed; scars are almost always present and sometimes Evadne will choose to deliberately present some sort of defect (harelip is a favourite, as is a blinded or missing eye).

Cunning and brutality are the watchwords where Evadne is concerned, but they are very committed to friends and loved ones, and will forgive many trespasses from those they consider close. Their close confidants, however, is a very small list. Evadne will usually be satisfied to be referred to by the gender which they are presenting at the moment, though the melange of language in Omphalos means that they are experimenting with non-gendered first-person pronouns from languages that share that particular trait; among the possible pronouns that Evadne will use are hir, xir, van, and they; Evadne will be very, very sharp with anyone who uses “it” or other terms that are deemed de-personifying.

Evadne almost always appears in public in full formal wear, including traditional red turban with gold trim and double-buttoned knee-length buff coat in maroon or indigo, white longshirt, striped pantaloons to match the coat, and leather boots. For formal occasions, jewelry is sometimes added, or on a whim Evadne will wear a full sari in pastel versions of their signature colours.

Evadne’s patron is The Traveller, and their signature flower is the night-blooming jasmine, known for its poisonous nature (in moderate doses) and strong psychoactive side-effects (in moderate doses after building up tolerance). It is also a strong and distinctive scent to which some find themselves violently reactive. In addition to having the distinctive trumpet blooms engraved on their rod implements (pause for snickers to die down) Evadne also always had at least two bunches braided into their hair or beard (if wearing one).

Evadne was an adventurer of some sort, but is cagey about their history before Coyote brought them to Omphalos, generally only responding with short phrases or one-word answers (“Betrayal” and “Deceit” being two of their favourite answers to “how did you come to Omphalos”). They are sometimes more open with close associates, but very few have managed to get that close.
